Landmark Enterprises was founded in 1974 by Eugene W. Blanton and is headquartered in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. It is one of the most trusted and proven full-service commercial and industrial real estate development companies in the Southeast. We own, manage, lease, or have under development more than a million square feet of commercial space, including office, hospitality, and industrial product. Our professional staff has the technical knowledge and skills required to master the challenges of real estate development, property management and brokerage.

Gene Blanton – Principal

Eugene W. Blanton established Landmark Enterprises in 1974.  Under his oversight, Landmark has developed and owned 65 office, industrial, and hospitality projects comprising over 1 million square feet.

Throughout his career, Gene has acted as a location consultant in all facets of commercial real estate.  He draws upon the resources of three of the most prestigious international real estate organizations: RICS, CRE, and SIOR.  Prior to founding Landmark, Gene spent a decade in economic development and successfully recruited over $2.5 billion in new capital investment to the Charleston region.

Gene retired as a Commander after 24 years of Naval Reserve service, where he managed Reserve Units involved in communications intelligence and communications security.  He holds an MBA from Southern Illinois University and a BA in Geology from the University of South Carolina, and has successfully completed programs at the Armed Forces Staff College and the Defense Intelligence School.

Jason Ward – President & Principal

Jason M. Ward is the President of Landmark Enterprises.  In this role he oversees all operations of the development, asset/property management, and brokerage divisions of the firm.  He is also in charge of all aspects of real estate development for Landmark, which has over $75 million worth of projects under development.  Jason joined Landmark in December 2006 after stints at several regional and national real estate firms, where he acquired extensive experience with real estate development, management, operations and marketing.  His expertise spans the office, industrial and hospitality product sectors. 

Jason is a graduate of The Florida State University where he earned a BS in Residential Sciences, Real Estate. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, NAIOP, and First Scot Presbyterian Church, and he volunteers on many boards and committees to serve his local community.

Lynn Blanton – Controller & Principal

Lynn has been with Landmark Enterprises since its inception in the 1970’s.  She leads the accounting and compliance department.

Jonathan Oakman – VP of Development

Jonathan R. Oakman is the VP of Development at Landmark Enterprises.  He manages a portfolio of Landmark’s commercial real estate development projects, overseeing them from pre-development through construction and lease-up.  Jonathan has a diverse background that includes positions in the public, non-profit, and private sectors in New York City and Charleston.  He has broad experience with all facets of real estate finance and development, as well as economic and community development.  

Jonathan holds a Masters in Public Affairs from Princeton University and a BA in political science from Williams College.  He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and holds positions on boards and advisory groups of various community non-profit organizations including Redux Contemporary Art Center and Lowcountry Local First.

Jon Chalfie – Broker-In-Charge

Jon Chalfie was named the broker-in-charge of Landmark Enterprises in April of 2020. An economics graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Jon has 20 years’ experience in commercial real estate. Jon specializes in office and small warehouse space as well as investment properties throughout the Charleston area. He represents businesses who are looking for advice on site selection, negotiation and lease evaluation as well as Landlords who are looking to get their property premium visibility and ultimately the highest return on their investment. 

Jon is very active within the Charleston community. Through his Rotary involvement Jon became a Paul Harris Fellow and earned Presidential Citations from the Rotary Club of Daniel Island. He has served on several local boards including the American Heart Association, Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce and Charleston Trident Association of Realtors over the years.  Jon also served a two year term as the President of the Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce.  In his spare time he enjoys live music, golf, and is a passionate supporter of the US men’s national soccer team.  Jon is committed to getting his clients the best value in every transaction and offering them honest advice to make sound long term real estate decisions.

Bart Langlois – Commercial Broker

Bart J. Langlois is a sales and leasing broker specializing in office, industrial and land sales.  He represents clients in the acquisition, disposition and leasing of office buildings, industrial properties, vacant land, hospitality assets, multifamily properties and retail centers.

Bart has been working in the Charleston real estate market since 1998 and joined Landmark Enterprises in 2010.  He graduated from St. Lawrence University with a BA in History and Minor in Sociology.  He earned his CCIM designation in 2005 and is a candidate for SIOR.

Glenn Goodwin – Commercial Broker

Glenn S. Goodwin is a commercial broker specializing in the industrial and office sectors.  He primarily represents buyers, tenants, landlords and owners in connection with the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of industrial and office properties.  Glenn has been working in the real estate industry since 1994 covering the full spectrum of services: property management, construction management, and commercial brokerage.

Glenn graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a BS in Business Administration with a Real Estate major.  He is a member of the Charleston-Trident Association of Realtors, the SC Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.

Hailey Clifton – Commercial Associate

Hailey Clifton joined Landmark Enterprises in April 2020 as a Commercial Associate. Hailey’s focus is representing businesses who are looking for advice on site selection, negotiation and lease evaluation as well as Landlords who are looking to get their property premium visibility and ultimately the highest return on their investment. In 2018, Hailey moved into a full time Commercial Associate role. She began working in the Commercial Real Estate industry in 2014, immersing herself in Charleston’s commercial real estate scene as Office Manager and Brokerage Services and Marketing Coordinator. Her experience “behind the scenes” illustrates the many ways that marketing plays a crucial role in commercial real estate. She knows the processes, she knows the market, and she has an acute understanding of advertising and promotional tools – print, web and social media. This is experience that Hailey puts to use daily for her clients. 

Hailey earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the UNC Wilmington. She brings to Landmark Enterprises valuable business, organizational and communication skills.
